I separated in beginning of September last year. My ex wasn't working and has 3 months worth of alimony that i paid. They now have full custody of 3 kids. Also until October my parents were living with me as well until I moved out.
1. Would my ex claim the children or would I do it as I was the higher earner until the separation?
2. Can I claim my parents as dependents because I supported them and both are sick and cannot live on their own?
3. Can I claim my ex as a dependent too for last year because I read somewhere that I could either claim the alimony I paid or claim them as a dependent since most of the year I supported them?
