We are a married couple with a child. I have claimed the dependent portion for our daughter already. My wife is doing her taxes now and was asked if she has any children, she entered yes. There is a form to fill out your dependents information and a box to check if someone has already claimed this dependent amount. She checked off yes (that someone has already claimed this amount) but turbotax software keeps adding a refund to her account? I am assuming this is incorrect. Should she just enter she has no children on the questionnaire?

What you did is correct. As long as she checks off that someone else has claimed this dependent.  Can you please verify that the refund amount in question is actually for the child?
