Disability Tax Credit

I have submitted my taxes. My husband is not the biological father to my son who is entitled to the DTC. Every year my husband has made more than me, and not sure if this is the reason that after I submitted it was posted on his Netfile as a code of 83 (they do not have a DTC certificate on his file). Why would they put it on my husbands file, was it because he had a lower income than me this year? Did I do something wrong? If this is correct, can they just review my file for the DTC certificate? Or, do you think they will be requesting this.

Disability Tax Credit

In TurboTax Online, it will add the disability tax credit transferred from a dependant to whichever spouse it thinks is the best option. There is no way to change who's getting the transfer if you are doing a joint return.

Unfortunately, the spouse that's chosen is not always the person that is listed on the DTC form. So you would either need to change who's on the DTC form, or adjust your return (using MyAccount or T1-ADJ T1) to add the transfer to your return, and then remove the transfer entirely in TurboTax so that your Husband can file.
