I've made a very (very) large contribution to my RRSP (utilizing a huge build-up of RRSP contribution room from the past 20 years). The result is that almost all my taxes will be refunded this year.
I will not receive an RRSP contribution receipt until the last week of March.
Can I go ahead and file my taxes now (including the RRSP deduction) via EFILE, or do I have to wait until my RRSP contribution receipt is released by my financial institution?
The only reason I am in a rush to file is because of the possible pending CRA strike in early April.
Thanks in advance.
As long as you have the paperwork stating how much you have contributed. You do not want to put the wrong amount- that is why it is always best to wait for the receipt from your financial institution. 🙂
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
