Receiving NOA after Netfiling for The First Time

Hello, I just completed my first tax return and of course have no My CRA Account because of it. After I filed my taxes with NETFILE and TurboTax, it asked me if I wanted to receive my NOA through email, and I said yes. However, before I was able to submit it, it said that I would need to access My CRA Account to see my NOA, and I decided to switch it and decided I did not want to link my email to the CRA account so I could receive my NOA through mail. I was just wondering how long it will take for me to get my NOA and what the next steps are? 

Also, am I supposed to receive a NETFILE confirmation email, or is the confirmation number given after filing the return the only thing I shall receive?

The CRA generally processes returns submitted through NETFILE within two weeks. But if you are getting your NOA through the mail, it may take longer. After you get it, you can sign up for CRA MyAccount if you'd like. 

And yes, you should get an email with your NETFILE confirmation number, though it will also stay with your return so you can go back and see it there too. Check your spam/junk folder as the email may have gone there.

I was just wondering if I received a direct email from NETFILE, or if the one I got from Turbotax with the NETFILE confirmation number is enough?

Also, because I have no CRA account yet, is there a way to view the status or track how much longer I have to wait for my NOA? Also, I can't access my CRA account without my NOA right?

The email that you got from TurboTax is the only one that you will get with the confirmation number.

Unfortunately, the CRA's Progress Tracker is only available in MyAccount.
