Sale of principle residence has no box for how many years ...but reports error and wont let me file return

The Sale of Principal Residence section does ask for how many years you have owned the property, as well as how many years it has been your Principal Residence. To make changes, select “Principal Residence” from the “Income” tab. “Edit” the residence you want to change. Click the “Continue” button twice, or until you get to the “Designation of a property as a Principal Residence” page. There you can enter the number of years you have owned and lived at the property. Click the “Continue” button to save any changes you make.
