    Why can't a widower file at the same time as his deceased wife? Why do they have to b e separate returns?

    Why can't a widower file at the same time as his deceased wife? Why do they have to b e separate returns?

    Sorry to hear about your loss.

    When completing a final return, it must be done separately and it must be printed and mailed in. Please verify this FAQ
