Why has my Netfile been processing for more than six weeks?

I submitted my (fairly simple) tax return on February 25th and now, as of April 7th, it is still being processed.  CRA can provide me with no answers.

Why has my Netfile been processing for more than six weeks?

Did you get a NETFILE confirmation number? If you did not, then your return was not successful sent to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Why has my Netfile been processing for more than six weeks?

Yes, I received a Netfile confirmation number and have contacted Revenue Canada on several separate occasions.  They have been unable to indicate why it has taken so long to complete my return.
