For 2022 I used standard Desktop version of Turbotax. What version should I use for 2023 to ensure all data of prior years is carried forward

For 2021 I used an Online version- so for 2022 it was a big problem to re-enter  baseline demographic data, and no ready comparatives of  year/year on line items was available. I want to be sure I buy the cirrect version for 2023 - whether its the Desktop   OR the online version

You can't transfer info from TurboTax Online into Desktop, but you can transfer from Desktop into Online. So if you used Desktop last year, you can use either version of the software. 

 

If you want to look at forms and worksheets, then you would need to use TurboTax Desktop.
