I live in quebec and has been seen a private speech therapist for my son for all of 2022 can i claim those expenses? If so how?

You may be able to claim this expense if your son qualifies for the disability tax credit (DTC) and the therapy was prescribed by a psychologist, a medical doctor, or a nurse practitioner for a mental impairment or be prescribed by an occupational therapist medical doctor, or a nurse practitioner for a physical impairment.

My son will qualify for dtc credit soon but the speech therapist wasnt prescribed by anyone it was choosen on my own to help my child. It has helped extremely too. Which section would i be able to claim the credit? For the speech therapist expense?

You can include a speech language pathologist under your medical expenses as other. NOTE: This expense cannot be claimed if you live in Northwest Territories, Nunavut or Yukon Territories.
