Have you made sure to enter the amount of loss you are claiming on the Loss worksheet?

Yes, I entered the amount under claimed in 2023. I still get 0.00 in 25300

Troubleshooting

@Warren16 Please try reinstalling TurboTax using the download from our website.  You can download the current version of TurboTax CD/download edition here:  Choose the 2023 TurboTax edition you need (for Windows). Troubleshooting

Hi, I figured it out.

The return is for a deceased person, as a result it will not populate Net Capital losses from prior years line 25300. As soon as I delete the date of death it then populates 25300.

Given that, then it should put the loss on Schedule 3.

However, it does not do that.

So the prior year losses never get applied against capital gains.

This needs to be addressed and fixed.

As a work around I had to manually put the loss on Schedule 3.

Regards,

Warren

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I did contact support, they could not see a reason for the issue and suggested I remove all the info related to capital gains and losses carried forward and then re-enter fresh. I did and that seemed to correct whatever confusion was going on in the program.

Thanks
