Well, that's the catch: TT20224 suggests that it does apply to me. TT2024 "Alternative Minimum Tax" Easy step page suggests that without a doubt I have made an error in entering data by saying "There is a claim of $ xxx reported for carrying charges, interest expenses, or other expenses, but there are no entries on this step. Review your entries in the section for tax shelters, partnerships, and non-active partners." whereas the amount of xxx dollars is actually associated with "Carrying charges for fees for investment advice".
Said warning is a result of me trying to ignore the unreasonable suggestion on the "Alternative Minimum Tax" page.
Also, when I look at T1 General form, the line 12600 says 0.00.
Are you suggesting that I should be smarter than the TT2024 and conclude that this does not apply to me even though the TT2024 suggests that it does apply to me?
Please fix the bug.
