Direct sales industry code is 454300 per CRA for the T2125 C form but yet it keeps giving me an error code

If you are filing your return electronically, you have to use the industry codes from your tax preparation software. The codes used in TurboTax come from the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).

454390 still does not work. I have been on the phone all morning with Revenue Canada and with turbo tax still no resolution

I have also been trying to eFile and on the phone with Turbo Tax all morning and still no fix. They need to update the software to the new code and will not listen...

The codes are updated every few years and were most recently updated in 2022. So, if your code is not working, it may have changed.

So I have tried both codes 454300 and 454390 and both say invalid industry code and can not file untill its fixed. Can you please tell me the correct code for Avon direct selling?

Revenue Canada updated their codes but turbo tax has not well at least not for the 2020 tax year as I have tried both and been on the phone for hours with turbo tax and they will not update their software to the new codes. I receive an error from turbo tax software if I use 454300 which is the new code for CRA and if I change it to 454390 which turbo tax accepts then CRA does not. The error message is 280002 and says contact turbo tax support but turbo tax has not helped. Now I have to print and send as CRA will not accept the old code. Turbo Tax please update pervious years tax software with the new code so I can netfile my return 

Are you using TurboTax CD/Download or TurboTax Online?

When checking for updates, the program returns that there are no updates for TurboTax Download.  When using F1 for industry codes, the NAICS link provided by TurboTax is for the old 2017 version 3. Error 180002 prevents netfiling using iNAICS' ndustry codes from both 2017 V3 and 2022 V1.

I have been reading the treads on your web site.  From what I am reading the error code, that I am getting related to using the incorrect industry code for direct selling has been an issue with Turbo Tax Software for several years.  Here is a message from several weeks ago(below).  My question is WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX the software so I and anybody else who in involved in direct selling can Net File their tax return??  It is 2023 and from what I am reading you have know about the software bug  since at least 2019.

This code is not working!!!  HELP!!

I have been trying for 3 weeks and on the phone for hours with turbo tax and they will not update their codes. I don’t want to print and mail, I want to e-file. TURBOTAX PLEASE CORRECT YOUR ERROR…YES I!M YELLING, CAUSE YOU WON’T LISTEN!!!

Any updates or fixes for netfile on this? I still am having the same error today trying to netfile with 454300 or 454390.....

the link you gave says right on it it is only good for paper filing so the list wont work for netfile

Is the problem that prevents netfiling for direct selling only with the CD and/or download version or is it also a problem with the online version?

I have only used the online version and it will not let me use the code that is needed.

Please note that the CRA update the codes and if you are a direct seller, from now on you will choose the closest code to as a retailer would for what you sell. Therefore the codes with the 454- are not longer valid.  I hope this helps.

Can you recommend a code to be used?  I have tried different ones and they do not work as well.

When will Industry Code for direct sales or network marketing be fixed please?  This is very annoying!
