How do I know what type of income to report on the return from a T5008 form?

Investment Income is generally interest from a bank account, a term deposit, a guaranteed investment certificate or another type of investment.

Capital Gains are the money you earn from the sale of shares and mutual fund units.

If you are unsure of what you have, you can double check with whoever issued the T5008 slip.
