Thanks Susan. If you read my post you will see I noted there was no option. If there was an option, I wouldn’t have selected provide expert advise. I’m fairly confident that as an accountant, I am fully capable of completing my return without some call centre assistance. This is a scan 100%.
Stop lying, the question is can you change options when the service is not used and useless.

If you want to be helpful, give me a TubroTax email I can contact to request a refund of unused and unasked for "Expert" advice. Don't waste my time with other contact methods, I don't have time for your offshore call centers
Would it be possible to send us a picture or let us know of when the A & R gets added to your software so that we can better understand and let the team in charge know that there is an issue? We would like to try to replicate this issue on our end.

2- What version of the software are you using
3- When do you see that Assist & Review is added without a choice?

Unfortunately I don’t have a screen shot of when it was added. I only noticed at check out when my returns were costing me $300! I use the desktop version of the program. I will take ownership in that somehow I didn’t choose a different version from self employed since I did use that last year and now understand that it rolls forward. But no where and no way did I select that I needed extra help. Cause I don’t.

This is a total scam. I have been using TurboTax for 10+ years and have always used the Premier edition. You can imagine my shock when I got ready to submit my returns only to discover TT was trying to charge me $240 for two returns using Expert Help. I neither requested nor need TT expert help.
TurboTax has put some crappy pop-up in the middle of the tax form completion experience in order to trap customers. This is totally unacceptable.
After speaking with a customer service rep, they provided two (completely useless) alternatives: 1. pay the the $240 and then request a refund (yah, why would I trust TurboTax; they have clearly demonstrated they are untrustworthy); or 2 restart a new refund. Why should I waste my time. The tax returns are complete.
Having used this platform for many, many years I am very disappointed in this experience. I will tell everyone I know about this bad outcome and I will be asking friends and family to provide alternative recommendations to TurboTax.
Same issue. Have been using the product for years and paying for the basic package. When i went to file it forced me to pay for a package i did not select at the outset. I clicked around for a half hour so and there was no way to deselect the up charge of expert review. Feels very, very scammy.
