Great news. Just verified H&R Block Deluxe + State Tax Software 2025 works with Windows 10 and supports imports from TurboTax. Filing taxes is no reason to discard a functional and safe PC & OS. This is the last straw Intuit!

Please reconsider support of Windows11 for Turbo Tax 2025. The recommendation is to use Turbo Tax online, but I absolutely want to minimize the number of places where my personal data is stored. Turbo Tax online is just one more place where nefarious people can access it. This is all about security. I have used Turbo Tax since the early 2000s and prefer to continue using it. This requirement to throw into the trash a perfectly good computer just because it is using operating system that is still supported by Microsoft has become a make or break decision for myself and many others.

Why are you persisting with this ridiculous charade?

Core functionality for a December release is already fully baked in late November. And devs build what they’re instructed to, not whatever their whims dictate - so a management decision was made somewhere along the line, either to capitulate or to hold the line. Either way, though, it’s already knowable.

The fact that you continue to dissemble tells me all I need to know. But have the decency to confirm it for those still holding out hope.

To save me the bother of retuning to address your anticipated response: if you really don’t know and don’t have the sway necessary to find out, why are you even here?

I suspect the reason Turbo Tax is failing to support Windows 10 ESU is a financial one geared at redirecting Windows 10 users of which there are probably millions to use their online tax option.

None  of their rationale otherwise makes sense.

I searched the web and allegedly there was a data breach in 2024 relating to the online Turbo Tax service, resulting in a class action lawsuit.  

Just another reason I will not prepare my taxes using Turbo tax online. So for me unless Turbo Tax relents , it’s H&R Block from here on out.

Additionally, my wife  is a current victim of Identity Theft relating to a breach from the DMV division of the state where all the State’s drivers license data including full name, address, drivers license number, birthdate, expiration date, and social security number were stolen. Everything someone needs to steal one’s identity. I cannot risk having my financial data stolen via Turbo Tax data breach.

@Vote_Quimby  We don't want to put out information until we are 100% certain that it's correct, and unfortunately, we sometimes don't get confirmation until the last minute.. TurboTax Canada 2025 software will be available December 16, 2025, and we have yet to hear of any change to the plan of it being Windows 11 only. 

That having been said, when it was originally announced that TurboTax Desktop would no longer come on disc, many customers were upset, and at the last minute it was decided to release discs. So a last minute change has happened before.
