That is just wishful thinking.  It certainly is not a valid marketing strategy.

Those kinds of issues are not indicative of whether the business was at a point where they HAD to register, or chose to register.  It just means someone did not prepare correctly.  To any person looking to begin a business, I would recommend registering a GST/HST account earlier rather than later, unless you really just don't intend to have a lot of growth in your business.

Actually it is an extremely valid marketing tactic...you certainly look bigger than the person down the block who isn't registered for GST/HST.
