How do I transfer data from my personal turbo tax standard program (years 2015 and 2016) to my new accountant that uses professional tax software?
Due to issues with capital gains that will occur this year (2017) I will be using a professional accountant and he is requesting my tax information for years 2015 and 2016. I could give him printouts of both years but I would like to give him the data on a thumb drive that will load into his software. Can this be done and if so, how?

Copy the TurboTax file to a portable storage device
On your old computer, open TurboTax.
Open the return you want to copy.
Insert your portable storage media (such as a USB key or portable flash drive) in the appropriate drive or port.
From the File menu, select Save As.
In the Save in field, select the drive (e.g., D:\Removable drive).
Click Save.
Restore the TurboTax file to your new computer
Insert the portable storage media with your TurboTax file into your new computer.
On your computer Desktop, double-click My Computer.
Double-click the portable drive.
Select the file(s) you want to copy/transfer.
From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
Select the folder where TurboTax data files are installed. The default location for these files is C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\TurboTax\2xxx
