Hi, I did not claim "Carrying charges/interest expense" (line 221) for 2017 & 2016. Can I claim these next year? Or, do they have to be claimed in their respective years?

You can send an adjustment for your 2017 taxes, unfortunately you can not claim your 2016 expenses. They have to be claimed in their respective tax year.
