If you want to use or carry forward your unused capital loss from 2021 in TurboTax Online, please do the following:
In the first part of the Net Capital Loss Carry Forwards section, it asks you for the unused losses from previous years, then on the next page it will ask you how much of those losses you want to use on your 2022 return. If you can't use the losses in 2022, just leave the amount as zero, and the losses will carry forward indefinitely.

I am using the Windows version. I have my NOA from 2021 along with the records of all prior years on CRA (carry forward section). How do I enter this into Turbo? Thanks.
@Bryan_Tax The above instructions for TurboTax Online are pretty much the same for TurboTax CD/Download EasyStep mode, except you may have to scroll further down the list in the search to find "Net Capital Loss Carry Forwards".
In Forms mode you would use the Losses worksheet.
Excellent answer. Best of all, it worked! Thanks
I have not figured out how to post yet - so I am piggybacking on a very related post.
I am using 2024 Desktop Standard version, and I am having a real time trying to get Loss carry-forward (line 25300) to work.
When I double-click line 25300, I am brought to the Loss worksheet - but I end up being forced to enter a value in the 1985 bucket. I cannot seem to work around this. Being forced to use the 1985 "pot" limits the carry-forward to $2000.
How do I get TurboTax to not force me to use the 1985 bucket?
I can probably do an override. And may try that. But I would hate to go through the pain of netfiling and then being rejected.
RE: "Check off the Net Capital Loss Carry Forward box" at the top of this thread.
I see no such box in 2040 Standard desktop version.
Thanks to @Mark4444 I think I now know how to post. Not a good user interface.
