I'm having a problem with netfiling for Quebec (TY2024). It's giving me this error "The identification number or the social insurance number (SIN) of the person who provided day care services is missing, incomplete..." on the RL-24.
When I go to fix it, I double/triple checked the number in box H of the only RL-24 entry, but won't clear the issue and I can't even get to NETFILE.
It's the number that I have on the RL24 slip, the id number from box : H Childcare provider identification number (lines 26.2 to 37.2 of Schedule C), it's 10 numbers.
I have found this post, with the same error, but I cannot open it: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/*/*/*/00/2124165
Is there a moderator that can post the solution posted on the above article which I can't open?
@HollyP and @GiseleD that post seems to have a solution for this exact problem and I can't open it.
I've already had a ticket and had support look at this and they can't resolve it, I couldn't even upload the care file.
TY
Try not entering anything in the boxes that ask for a SIN on the child care receipt page. Instead enter the Québec Identification Number or Social Insurance Number in Box H on the Releve 24.
This simply doesn't help. I've been through every single scenario at entering this RL-24 information and it's preventing me from Netfiling. I've had Intuit support also they could not help. There is NO WAY to fix this problem. This is very frustrating and Intuit cannot address this problem with their software.
There is a similar post here: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/*/*/*/00/2124165
... RL-24 forms. I have verified that each form has a number (Box H) that is 6, 8, 9 or 10 digits. I don't know how else to fix this or what else is the problem ...
What is the solution posted there? Why can't I open that post to see the solution?
I have undeleted the thread, but basically the answer that was originally given in March 2021 was " For SIN or identification numbers that have 6 or 8 digits only, simply put zeros in the front so that the total number of characters is 10 digits long in the RL-24 Box H." followed by multiple people saying it didn't work. The last post is me in 2023 giving the same answer I gave to you.
So, maybe try adding zeros to the number in Box H to make it 10 digits - it worked for at least one person.
Have you tried removing the number in Box H of all the RL-24s, saving then re-adding the numbers. Don't use copy & paste if you are copying the numbers from a digital source. If you are using Easy Step, maybe try re-adding the numbers in Forms mode (or vice-versa)?
You may also want to try deleting and re-entering all your child care receipts. Again, you might want to try using Forms mode if you were using easy step (or vice-versa).
