Both my wife and me have self employed home offices, one upstairs and one downstairs, should i double the squre footage to calculate expenses

we both have offices, one upstairs and one downstairs, can I use the main floor square footage to calculate the percentage for each office or double it to include both floors

You would use the square footage of the whole house, and then each one would use the square footage of his/her office space.
