The fields in T1 are all blocked and I cannot make any changes or original answers to CRA questions
Many fields on the T1 General itself are not able to be entered directly on that page. You must enter your information on the pop-up screens in the software to get them to post there (while in the Forms view ).
If you are in the EasyStep view, most questions relating to your personal information are asked in the "Introduction" section. As soon as you answer these and click continue, they will be posted to the T1 General. The "Language of Choice" and "Other CRA Questions" are not asked until later in the Sum Up section.

If you are using the Forms View of TurboTax installed/downloaded to your computer, you can make entries in these fields by accessing the "Information Worksheet".
To get this form to open:
You can now enter your information and it will populate to the T1 General form.
