I have a second job as a casual and i am filling out the TD1 form. I want to deduct additional tax off each paycheck, but not sure how much to put. what if 0 hours?

will anything be deducted if i have a pay period where i don't work (make $0) that pay period? what if I put too much, for example if I only work a couple of hours but I've said to deduct $200? what would happen then?

The additional amount of taxes to be removed, only you can determine according to your income and budget. The total claim amount entered on these forms is used to determine the amount of income tax deducted per pay period from your employees’ gross pay amounts. Therefore, if there is no income, there will be no deduction of taxes.
