I have expenses to deduct that are in US dollars. Can I convert these expenses to Canadian dollars? If so, by what multiplier?

If the amounts of your expenses are reported in a foreign currency, convert them to Canadian dollars before you enter them. 

Enter the exchange rate for that currency at the time the expense was incurred. The following link is for a CRA approved Currency Converter and averages;
