I have T3 and T5 info in US dollars. Does the program automatically convert any USD amounts into canadian dollars ?

No, TurboTax does not automatically convert these amounts from T3 or T5 slips automatically. You'll have to do a manual calculation using the 2018 US Average of 1.2957.

Does TurboTax 2020 convert T5 US$ interest to CDN$ automatically?

Same question for T5008 that has amount reported in US$, does it convert automatically if USA is selected as the country of origin. Is it converted automatically?
