For your 2016 return, you can include the full calendar year for both amounts (January 1 - December 31).
Childcare expenses will be the same for 2017 (Jan-Dec) but the public transit amount ended mid-year. This means that you may only claim public transit amounts for passes covering January 1 - June 30, 2017, on next year's return.
