Moving Expenses: I purchased a home but was renting before. I can still claim house purchase expenses?

As long as you otherwise qualify to claim moving expenses, your moving expenses would include any legal or notary fees that you paid for the purchase of your new home, as well as any taxes paid (other than GST/HST) for the transfer or registration of title to the new home.  You do not need to have owned a home previously to make claim these expenses.
