Total Revenue

I'm having a lot of trouble using TurboTax this year. I'm trying to navigate through the self-employed section. I'm on the page with the heading "What was your Self-employment income?"

If the total I made from the job is already listed under "Self-employment commissions from T4A slips - boxes 20, 48, or 105" do I also put this amount into the total revenue line above it? That makes it appear that I've made twice as much money.

It has also separated my two T4As into two distinct businesses on the "Your self-employment or business summary" page. Is this a problem? I can't figure out how to edit this and corral both T4As into the one single business which is just under my own name as I'm a professional actor.

Thanks for the help!

No, if the income was already reported on T-slips, then you don't need to enter it again as part of your Total Revenue.

TurboTax will make a new business profile for each T-Slip that has self-employment income, but you only need to completely fill out one. On the other one you can just fill out the required information. The income (and expenses) from all your T2125s will be combined into the same line on the T1 (line 13500 in the case of Business Income).

Thanks for the quick reply. A couple other questions: My T4As are listed in both my Self-Employment Category as well as in my Income category - does that mean it's being included twice or are those two inclusions essentially the same?

Any self-employment income on your T4A slips will only be counted as self-employment income.

Right, but I think it autopopulated my T4A slips - I then had to delete them from self-employment cause it got all mucked up with the previous double addition. I now have those self-employment amounts in the first category of "Self-Employment" pictured below, as well as being included in the "Income" category also pictured. In Self-Employment once of the amounts has been reduced by my deductions, but in Income it is still listed in full, which makes me think it's a double accounting. Would that be true?

Thanks for all your help so far

The amounts you entered on the T4A will stay the same regardless of what you enter in the Self-Employment section. The income from the T4A goes to the self-employment section (T2125 Part 3), and then any expenses are removed.
