Wife buy spousal RRSP for her husband. Entered the RRSP in wife & click yes to spousal RRSP. It did not transfer to the husband. How to get the proper transfer?
You are unable to "transfer" your spousal RRSP to the other spouse. It is reported by the person who purchased it known as the "contributor" and claimed on that spouse's tax return. The contributor receives the tax deduction at the time of purchase and the "annuitant's" tax return is only affected when the RRSP is withdrawn.
