I have money in RRSP and TFSA accounts. I am planning to leave canada in few weeks and go to another country permanently. Is it possible to transfer money from my TFSA account to RRSP account even after leaving canada over phone up to february 2018 deadline? By making contribution in RRSP account I can save taxes on my 2017 tax returns. I am thinking to withdraw money from my RRSP account after march 2018. What is the best way to withdraw money from my RRSP account after march 2018 so that I have to pay minimum taxes and what will be that tax rate? And how do I apply for 2018 taxes as a non-resident?
Also, how can I apply to get my CPP, EI contributions back after leaving canada? I live in Alberta and I am Permanent Resident of canada.
In order to determine whether you can transfer funds from your TFSA account to your RRSP account, it would be best to contact both your financial institution as well as the Canada Revenue Agency. The Canada Revenue Agency can be reached at 1 800 959 8281.
In order to determine whether you are able to have the funds that you paid into both CPP and EI refunded to you, contact Service Canada.
