Government Tutition Grant - should I report it?

I received a T2202 form for the school I went to, but I didn't pay the tuition, it was paid through a government program for immigrants. Should I include the T2202 form in my tax return? The form is on my CRA account. Should I report the government grant (not paid directly to me, but the school)?
Thanks!

Government Tutition Grant - should I report it?

Yes, you should report both the Government Grant you received (likely on a T4A slip) and the T2202 Tuition slip on your tax return.

When you receive a scholarship/grant/bursary for tuition and a T4A is issued for that amount, you need to report that, even though it was paid directly to the school. This is considered to be taxable income, however, when you report your T2202 Tuition Slip, the number of full or part-time Education Months will determine how much of the grant is "exempt" from your income.

And you want to report your T2202 - Tuition and Education Amounts Certificate as any of these credits that you do not use this year can be carried forward and used to reduce your tax payable in a future year.

I didn't receive a T4A and the government organisation said I wouldn't receive it because I don't have to pay it back. In this case, should I still report the T2202?

Thanks!
