Federal worksheet for line 314 deducts the amounts from a RRIF and shows the actual pension amount. Turbo tax includes all the amounts on line 6802 - why?

I am splitting pension income - turbo tax lists all the pensions from line 115 in box 6802 but when I complete a federal worksheet to determine line 314 it has me deduct the RIFF amount from line 115 so I only have the true pension amount on line A.

CRA states

Eligible pension income does not include the following income amounts:

  • amounts from a RRIF included on line 115 and transferred to an RRSP, another RRIF or an annuity.

Why doesn't turbo tax deduct the RIFF amount and why does the full amount from line 115 show up in line 6082?

Thank you for your question.

Had you transferred an amount to an RRSP, another RRIF or an annuity?
