Thank you for your question. When completing your T776, you will enter gross rent(line 8299) and gross expenses, which will give you net rental income(line 9369). This net rental income is then divided based on % of ownership. When entering expenses it is important to note that the personal portion option is only to be used when you have a rental that is partially used for personal reasons, such as renting out a suite in your own home. The personal portion would be the portion of the home you live in and use for personal reasons.

For tuition credits, both the student and parent's need to match. The amount designated to transfer amount and the amount accepted as a transfer. The correct amount should be the one calculated on the student's return, there will be a separate federal and provincial amount.

Thank you for your question. You will want to make sure that for each slip that box 20, cost value, is entered. This is what allows the program to calculate the gain between cost and selling proceeds.

Thank you for your question. CRA has strict guidelines on how the credits are applied. The student(unused tuition) credits will be applied before the student loan interest.

Thank you for your question. Are you self-employed(run your own business) or are you an employee and have a T2200? An employee is not able to claim expenses to get to and from work, but may have expenses if required to use vehicle during the work day to complete their job function, away from the office. This does require a T2200 form and log book.
