Purchased TurboTax Canada Standard 2021 from Costco, for download. Received an email containing the activation key and two download links:
"Download link"
https://esd.synnex.com/ESDWebCA/DownloadManager/DownloadManager.html and URL ends with version=32
"Download link(64 Bit)"
https://esd.synnex.com/ESDWebCA/DownloadManager/DownloadManager.html and URL ends with version=64
(When pasting here in the forum, I snipped out some code from both URLs that may have been unique to my purchase, so as not to share my purchase info.)
My PC runs Windows 10 64-bit, so I prefer 64-bit applications. I downloaded the 64-bit installer. When I attempt to install that, it tries to install in "Program Files (x86)" directory. That directory is where 32-bit applications are installed, so this is the installer for 32-bit TurboTax.
64-bit applications would be installed to "Program Files" directory.
So, the link for 64-bit does not download 64-bit, but instead downloads a 32-bit TurboTax.
Is there a 64-bit version of TurboTax Standard 2021?
The websites that you have there don't belong to TurboTax or Intuit. You would need to contact Costco for assistance with those.
Our download page for TurboTax Standard 2021 is: https://intuitglobal.intuit.com/downloads/CanadaTax/2021/dls/TurboTax_2021.exe
The software is currently only available as a 32-bit program.
