I need to check a past return - 2019. Version is online. I have signed in and used the 16 digit number on my card but it keeps telling me they were expecting a different number.

You don't need enter your activation code if you are just downloading the PDF of an older return. 

Please note that you can only use the activation code once in one account. Using the code again will give an error message.
