Bought desktop version then found out Mac is not supported

In my family we are mostly Windows users and have used Turbotax for years.  This year one member does not have a Windows machine - they are using Mac.  To our surprise there's no Mac version but we thought they could just use the online version, but apparently buying the desktop version does not entitle you to use the online version, is that true? (seems mind boggling that in 2025 you cannot just buy the software and use it on whatever platform you choose)

What are my options in this situation?

We do not have a desktop/download version for Mac. It is for Windows OS only. This information is stated on the product box as well.
