CCA class 50

Tax software for 2025 is currently showing a negative number in column 18 and thus not allowing CCA to be claimed?

Asset purchase was $1121.34 in 2025 and ready for use in 2025.

If you sold or disposed of property in that class for more than the remaining balance, the software calculates a "Recapture." You cannot claim CCA on a negative balance because that amount must actually be added to your income.

If you purchased a new asset ($1,121.34) but the software did not carry over Column 2 (Opening Balance) from the previous year, and there were "dispositions" (sales) entered, the math could fall below zero.

Ensure that your UCC balance from the end of 2024 was properly entered or carried forward. If this is a brand-new class for a new business, it should cost $0.00.

Verify the Addition (Column 3): Ensure the $1,121.34 is entered in the "Additions" section for the correct class (e.g., Class 8 for furniture/tools or Class 50 for computers).

Remove Accidental Dispositions: Check if any amount was accidentally entered in the "Dispositions" column. If you didn't sell anything in that class in 2025, that column must be $0.00.

No disposals recorded on the T1 and thus no recapture.

I added class 50 in Area B of Equipment additions in the year for $1121.34.  Only class 50 asset.

This is how the software is dealing with it - confused.

@ksayeau Maybe there's some kind of override there? You can remove any overrides by selecting Edit > Form Overrides > Cancel all Overrides.
