Child Care Receipt

When I added child care expense receipt, it doesn't seem to be used in calculation. Turbotax try to find out who has lower income in a couple. But I divorced couple years ago. I cannot fill my ex-spouse's income in TurboTax.

Child Care Receipt

If you have divorced years ago, you should be preparing a tax return for yourself only and you should not be asked for your ex-spouse's income information. If you are filing a tax return by yourself, the ChildCare Expenses should be calculated on your return properly.

If you have remarried or are filing a tax return with a new spouse, only then should Turbotax be trying to apply these expenses to the lower-income.  earner.

Other possible reasons why the childcare expenses may not calculate correctly on your return can be found here: Why aren’t my childcare expenses being calculated on my return?
