Same issue here, waiting for the update to submit.
Called Turbotax and had a helpful person on the other end help us fix the error via screen sharing. So hard to get to talk a real person, though--the bot on the phone call was persistent!
@nerdboyjoe Thank you for the feedback; we appreciate your patience.
Being a software dev, I judge that waiting 3 days for a simple form numbers propagation fix is starting to be long, so 9+ days is appalling. They are obviously not working any overtime at all for this, but they should. The codebase is obviously the same year after year and any competent team would barely need 1 tax expert to track the yearly changes, with 1 dev to implement the logic of it, and 1 quality assurance (QA) to test it. It looks like they don't have the QA, the tax expert is on vacation and the dev works 1 day a week, and no doubles to insure business continuity, much less do all provinces variants. This has end-of-life written all over the product box now. You'd be well advised to learn how to do your taxes by hand. If 80 years old people can, you and I can. And don't even think about making an april 1st joke with another non-working update. Fix this for real asap, give an ETA, and at least a 50% rebate or refund for anyone showing a proof of purchase.
Christine: How did they fix it?
@Dan178 I agree with you 100%. This Dev Team is in the tax industry, as I used to be a long time ago. You have to expect to work very long hours and weekends in the Spring and then you can take it easy in the summer. I won't mention their number 1 competitor's name here, but you can be sure I'm kicking the tires on their software this weekend.
And just to add insult to injury, the software counts 1 declaration used against your quota, despite having received an error from CRA due to invalid declaration content.
@Dan178 For real? That failed attempt counts against your quota? That's just plain wrong, TurboTax!
@Dan178 Now, and forever more, I shall call this product "TurtleTax" because they are so slow to fix simple bugs.
