We've all already explained several times that we don't have access to schedule 8 , it's generated by the use input on the T4.
Clearly the only way to get information on this is to contact the product support team but it would be good if you would stop copying and pasting irrelevant information here.
Just spent almost 3 hours on the phone with support.
In my situation, it seems that the t4 has an overpayment for QPP. This seems to be entered correctly on the provincial side. However, on the Federal side it is not putting that overpayment anywhere. It keeps the entry 44800 blank when it shouldn't. Because that is the cell for CPP and QPP overpayment.
After 3 hours I am told that they created an investigation and will get back to me in 7 to 10 days.
But, will most likely try calling CRA after to see if they have an idea.
Thanks for the additional information, wow 3 hours on the phone to be told it will take 7-10 days to get an answer.
I'm not feeling confident that this is going to be resolved in a timely manner if at all.
This should have all been sorted out in testing before it was rolled out.
We're getting no help from the community advisors and now it would seem that the production team aren't much help either.
You may be right in reaching out to the CRA- that's what Turbotax should be doing as a matter of urgency- , did the rep say they would be contacting the CRA concerning this?
I spent an hour last night on the phone with support. They told me they couldn’t do anything and I would have to send it by mail. It is frustrating and it is not normal. I easily able to submit the QC one online, but mailed the CRA one this morning. Now I paid for a service I used half of, and I need to wait longer to get my refund as mail takes forever.
AviB1,
It is indeed wrong that you paid for a service that didn't work and now on top of that have to pay for the mailing of the return to the CRA along with all of the inconvenience and delayed refund.
Could you tell me if you filed with Revenu Quebec with TT or with WS?
I'm thinking that I'll just try and submit my RQ return now then prepare the mail in return for the CRA as I have no confidence that they're going to fix this issue.
Also for the CRA return how did you prepare the forms that you sent? Obviously we can't use the ones that we prepared online as they're inaccurate. Did you have to print off the forms and fill them in by hand or did you find fillable pdfs we can use?
thanks
Use the total of the amounts shown in boxes 16 and 17 of your T4 slips when you complete Schedule 8 or Form RC381, whichever applies, to calculate the amounts to claim on line 30800 and line 22215 of your tax return and also make sure they enter the province on box 10.
If issue persists, We suggest you to contact our Product support team. They have access to tools we don't have here in Community, like screenshare to see the issues to escalate into an investigation if needed.
Just the fact that you are constantly repeating the same thing over and over is disrespectful
I'm having a very similar issue with my return that seems to be a software issue. I'm in Ontario and so my CPP and CPP2 contributions on my T4 are boxes 16 and 16A, but the return that TurboTax is generating isn't including 16A in the correct lines. Spoke to two different support people yesterday and they kept telling me it was a CRA issue. I've also had the same "moderator" respond to my own question with the same copy/paste solution that didn't address the actual issue I'm having. I don't foresee this issue actually getting solved any time soon. Have any of you had any luck with other tax software?
I used TurboTax to send RQ. It was pretty straightforward. I used the pdf form for the CRA: I do not think the form is wrong (I have very few documents this year, so it was easy to verify. The fact that the mistake is the same with WS and TT tells me the problem might be on the CRA side? Nevertheless, TT should provide assistance to its clients and be proactive.
