    Do I claim my self employed income on the year of the invoice or year when payment is received

    The work was completed and invoiced in 2024. Payment was not received until 2025.

    Do I claim my self employed income on the year of the invoice or year when payment is received

    You need to report income in the fiscal period you earn it, no matter when you receive it.
