Error code TT401

While I am completing my return I get an error code TT401 "An error occurred while saving your return".

I have checked that I have sufficient disk space so the issue seems to be related to write protection of the device disk.

I have noticed on previous years' TurboTax software that I always get a message "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", when I open the program.

I do not get this message when I open the 2025 version. I suspect this may be causing the problem. 

Is this a software issue that can be corrected with an update?

If not, would deleting the software from my device and reloading it possibly correct this error.

If you have problems saving your return file, try saving to the default location, or the desktop. By default, TurboTax Desktop saves file to the Documents folder, in the location C:\Users\username\Documents\TurboTax\20XX
