I am eligible for the CAI and it shows on line 449 of my tax return, but the $609 is not being added to my tax return total in the top left corner
The credit for the Climate Action Incentive is added to your return before you reach the actual screen in your return. It's assigned as soon as you've completed the Intro and Profile sections as it's not an income-dependent amount.
If the amount is showing on your T1 General, it is being claimed properly.
