I download the TurboTax software to file my 2019 return, how do I get it to open.

@Sunny_Sky Yes. For 2019 & 2020 we only have the download version of TurboTax available, so you will need to use a PC to run the software.

okay. how do I get them from this Mac to another PC? should I use the sharing codes that came with them? also, will I need to purchase a Desktop download as well to access them?

@Sunny_Sky If you've already bought the desktop software, then you don't need to buy it again. You just need to enter the Installation Keys when you install TurboTax. 

The easiest way to get them onto your PC would be just to redownload the installation files when you are on the PC. But you can also copy the files to an external drive (like a USB key) or a cloud service like OneDrive or Google Drive. Then copy them to the PC and open them from there.

I have not yet bought the desktop software as I was trying to use the online version. Which is where I purchased and downloaded the 2019 and 2020 packages from. Just to be clear, I need to now purchase the desktop software in order to use them?

@Sunny_Sky We no longer sell online versions for 2019 and 2020 on our website, only the Download/Desktop. The servers for those years have been shut down, so even if you have purchased codes from another store, there is no way to access the online versions anymore.

Can you tell me the cost to download the desktop in Canada? once downloaded will I be able to do both 2019 and 2020 returns or do I have to download a desktop for each year? I have already spent $19.99 per year to get the downloads for 2019 and 2020.

The price depends on the version that you want to use. You can see the prices under the 2019 & 2020 tabs here: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tax/software/prior-year-taxes

And, yes you would have to buy a copy for each tax year.
