If I enter "non-resident" in the field for Where did you live on December 31, 2024?, I cannot input my RL-1 for Québec.

If I enter "non-resident" in the field for Where did you live on December 31, 2024?, I cannot input my RL-1 for Québec. Since I stayed in Canada for less than 183 days in 2024, I believe I am considered a non-resident for tax purposes. How should I file a tax return for Québec as a non-resident? Should I file my CRA tax return as a non-resident, then start a new return and select Québec for Where did you live on December 31, 2024?? Also, if I select Québec for Where did you live on December 31, 2024?, should I choose yes for Did you move to or away from Canada in 2024?, then choose yes for Did you end your Canadian residency in 2024? and enter my departure date to my country?

Are you using TurboTax Online? If so, you need to click on Tax Profile on the Tax Home page (2024 tax return on the left), then click on Your Tax Profile. There you need to check off the RL-1. Click Continue to save and then go back to Tax Home > Income >T4. Now you'll see a Box E at the bottom of the T4 page, which is what you need to enter from your RL-1.

Thank you for using TurboTax.
