Could there have been something I thought I was entitled to that CRA decided I do not? Not sure how to get to the bottom of it

Without knowing your full tax situation, it is hard to determine why you did not receive the same refund. Please check your Notice of Assessment from CRA. It should have all the details. Please refer to this TurboTax article: Why is My Refund Lower Than Last Year?
