I bought the Deluxe CD version for my daughter and the Home & Business CD version for myself. Can both of these be installed on the same desktop computer?
You can’t install two copies of the same tax year version on a single computer. You can, however, enter the 2nd Licence Code into the software when you have used up the returns included with the 1st code. To do this, select Tools > Licence Code Switch from the top menu.
FYI: Unless you have bought the French version of the software, then there is no “Deluxe” version of TurboTax CD/Download. Only the online version has changed its name. If you have an English box (or order) that says “Deluxe”, then it’s for the online version.
TurboTaxSusan,
Thank you for your response! I never would have guessed that you can't install both on the same computer. Last year I just used the Business version and it was a pain to do her return. This year I thought I'd be smarter and buy the two versions. I didn't buy the two versions to be able to submit more returns. I bought the Deluxe for my daughter because it is easier to complete than the Business version. I guess I'm out the $50.
Regarding the "Deluxe" version; I bought the Deluxe version along with the "Home and Business" version at Sam's Club in Missouri. It definitely says "Deluxe" comes with a CD, and says 'CD or Download' on the front.
This is the support site for the Canadian TurboTax. So the information that I gave you may not be correct for the US version. For assistance with U.S. taxes and U.S. versions of TurboTax, please visit the website for TurboTax USA.
