Is there a way I can trick turbo tax into thinking I netfiled a return (which I did).

Situation - I want to refile my 2017 return using the "Change Return" feature so I can do it electronically. My computer crashed in 2018 and I lost all my data except the pdf of my return. I have recreated my 2017 return in Turbo tax 2017. However it won't let me change it because it doesn't think I netfiled it. And to make matters worse, I can't just re-netfile it because there is an error about the expiry of the election to split pension income.

I believe you can amend the return, in your CRA account.

The only option you have is to go to the CRA website and sign into your CRA Account or create an account to do an adjustment directly from there.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
