Hi. I came into canada in June 2020. So the question on change in residency says - if you moved into or away from canada in 2020, it is likely your residency has changed.
I ticked yes because i moved here in June 2020. I've also put in my income from foreign sources prior to my PR status and income when i became a PR. However, there is a portion that asks for the date you left canada. I left that blank and its coming up as an error message, that i need to put in a date.
Bear in mind that i also tried ticking 'no' to the change in residency question. when i did this, i'm getting a tax refund for climate change action which i am not eligible for and comes up as an error when i try to submit.
Please help. thanks
We appreciate you choosing TurboTax,
After you move here to Canada, if your residency status has been changed, then you have to say "yes"; otherwise, the answer should be "No."
Yes, You have to mention the date you left Canada.
